Scotland’s Scenery, is one of the many Facebook pages I follow. It is a page about people all over Scotland sharing their photos from all over Scotland, many of them are captures of the amazing landscapes of the country.
Like many others, I was doing my morning Facebook scroll, when a post from this page was in my morning feed. The photo was of a large stone with the words “Take A Moment To Behold” carved into it. The area around the stone was the part of the Scottish Highlands called “The Lecht”, an alpine ski area in the Cairngorms.
When I first saw the photo, with those words along with the beautiful landscape behind them, it caused me to stop and pause for a moment, and ponder what this photo was saying.
My first thoughts as I sat gazing upon the words etched in stone were, “Do we ever take time to stop for a moment to behold the wonder and beauty of the Seven Laws of Noah?”
Below is a list of the Seven Laws of Noah as they appear in an article by Yermeyahu Bindman.
- Carry out justice
- No blaspheme
- No idolatry
- No illicit intercourse
- No homicide
- No theft
- Don’t eat a limb of a living animal.
Over the past couple of years, my studies and meditations of the Seven Laws of Noah has deepened not only my knowledge and understanding of the laws themselves but what they mean to me personally. It has to be Divine Providence that, that particular photo was in my feed this Saturday morning.
I would like to encourage you to take a moment to behold the Seven Laws. Just pause and gaze upon the list. What is it speaking to you as an individual? What pictures develop in your mind’s eye? Do you see the beauty and glory of our Creator? Do you see the awesomeness of His will for you and all His creation? Can you see the beauty of mankind within them?
What do you see when you take a moment to behold?
