In the past I have written and done a video on what a Noahide is. I have spoken numerous times on the subject of the Seven Universal Instructions found within the book of Genesis.

This blog was inspired by a post on Facebook that a friend shared. It is so simple, I feel most overlook the profoundness of its message.

The Noahide subject is one that is not without controversy. There are those who gets it and embraces it like a hidden treasure found. And then there are the enemies, which for the most part are religious leaders. Listening to their rhetoric, you can see very soon they are ignorant and have no education on the subject.

So with the help of this simple writing that is going around on Facebook, I want to share with you the Noahide purpose and agenda – yes we have an agenda like everyone else.

Our main Noahide agenda and purpose is to make the world we live in a better place to live for all its inhabitants.

We are not a religion, we are more like an advocator, an advocator according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary is “A person who actively supports or favors a cause”

Our cause is to make the world a better place to live. We major on our deeds which are purposely guided by the Seven Universal Instructions.

In one of the many teachings I have heard, a rabbi (not sure which one) said it this way – “We of the nations are to make the world into a vessel for the Jews, i.e. the priestly nation to pull down the holiness of the Creator into it.” (Paraphrased).

The first step in our Noahide agenda, cause and purpose is to work on oneself – allowing the Seven Instructions to change us into a better person. This is the starting line to making the world a better place.

Lets look into that post I mentioned;

“What is my purpose in life?

What if I told you that you fulfilled it when you took an extra hour to talk to that kid about his life? Or you paid for that young couple in the restaurant? Or you saved that dog in traffic? Or you tied your father’s shoes for him? The problem is that you equate your purpose with goal based achievement. When you choose to act out of kindness, compassion and love, you are already finding your purpose. (Author Unknown)”

What a message for humanity, but there is one step that one can do that takes this message and elevates it to a higher level.

And that is the purpose behind the purpose.

We do the above, kindness, compassion and love because they are the will of the Creator for all of us.

We all are created in His image; kindness, compassion and love are attributes of the Creator that are in each of – we just have to choose to release them along with having an inward awareness of the Creator’s image within every person.

So in essence, what we do to another person, good or bad – we are doing to the Creator.

The Seven Universal Instructions are,

1. Prohibition of idolatry
2. Prohibition of blaspheme
3. Prohibition of theft
4. Prohibition of murder
5. Prohibition of forbidden sexual relations
6. Prohibition of eating meat taken from a living animal
7. Setting up just courts and laws

the root of these Seven Instructions is kindness, compassion and love.

Through these Instructions we find our Noahide Purpose, agenda, cause and direction.
